YONECO through Investing for the Impact of HIV and AIDS among People Project which is being implemented in the area of Senior Traditional Authority (STA) Tsikulamowa with funding from Egmond Trust, conducted review meetings with peer educators and Community Parenting Circle Facilitators in the area.
During the sesssions, it was noted that the health and welbeing of Young People Living with HIV (YPLH) in the area has tremendously improved through various interventions that are being implemented under the project.
Among other things, over 100 young people have been reached with peer education sessions on integrated health education which focus on HIV testing and adherence to treatment. In addition to this, the project’s benficiaries also acknowledged that various livelihood interventions like Village Savings and Loans (VSL) groups, financial literacy sessions and agribusiness activities have greatly contributed towards their improved nutrition and welbeing.
The sessions were also attended by various community leaders including chiefs, the Ward Councellor for the area, Ntcheu District Youth Friendly Health Services (YFHS) Coordinator and Ntcheu District Youth Network Coordinator.
